A popular food truck has announced festival sideshows
Fans of the Little Jerry's Food Truck were thrilled to hear they would be headlining the food line up at this year's Summer Fun Jams Festival across the country and today the truck's operators have announced a few intimate sideshows to go along with the long-awaited festival appearances.
The truck will be hitting parks in Sydney and Melbourne in between festival commitments, serving up their special brand of deep fried cheerios that have made critics fall over themselves with praise over the past year or so.
“We're pleased to announce we will be doing two sideshows to go with the Summer Fun Jam events,” truck driver and deep fryer operator Jerry Hewitt said in a statement released to the press today. “We love the festival atmosphere, but the chance to get into the parks and give the true fans a more intimate experience is always great.”
Little Jerry's topped the list of 2013's Best Food Trucks on a number of critics' lists, and they're using that momentum to 'drive' into the new year.

“We're bringing the full show out this summer,” Hewitt confirmed. “We've washed the truck, changed the oil and started using premium fuel to ensure we give the people the best experience we can. Food trucks are life and we're very privileged to be able to share our truck with people.”
While the fans have applauded the announcement, tensions have arisen between the food truck and festival promoters. The Summer Fun Jams Festival has yet to sell out and it is believed that people may decide to just follow the truck around the country for a week, rather than paying for a full festival ticket to sample the tasty treats.
“I only go to festivals for the outstanding food and drink options,” punter Hubert Koch told SPA Confidential. “I can't get enough of dumplings shaped like mini-hamburgers and rice paper rolls with celery. I'm a little bit annoyed I paid for a full ticket now.”
There are also rumours that would-be promoters will hold mini-festivals next to the sideshows in order to capitalise on the food truck's popularity.
A source close to the festival promoters told SPA Confidential that the hierarchy is “furious” about the move.
“They've built up their reputation as part of the festival, and now these food-carnies are stabbing them in the back with a cheese stick,” they said.
Rumours of the food truck collaborating with Lorde on a special vegetarian dish flew around after a series of cryptic New Year's Eve tweets, but no confirmation has been made as yet.
