Short description of your band and your music: SUIIX brings together all our fave bits from post-punk, electronic and psychedelic to mould Sarah's songs into spacey pop jams.
Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? We love checking out other bands and meeting people and so far it's been awesome. Hopefully we can avoid as much of the cringey schmoozing as possible, though it's necessary to a point!
What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? We're still putting things together with a new line-up, but so far having Henry Rollins play our tracks on KCRW show was pretty exciting — he's a legend.
Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? There's not much point assuming you'll make enough money to make a career out of music, especially in Australia. We've hopefully still got some time to just develop our sound together.

Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? They are totally different worlds, with Sarah working mostly solo on her tracks, with some help from us. It's getting more band-y as we go along, which is very cool. We psych it up live.
If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? We'd love to hook up with Midnite Vultures-era Beck and tap into his awesome energy on stage. Was he a Scientologist back then? More realistically Day Ravies — they're cool.
What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? There's a lot to be said for self-promotion, and it doesn't have to be aggressive.
What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? Sui Zhen, Rainbow Chan, Big White, Donny Benét... there's heaps! I'm sure we'll be stumbling around seeing as many as possible.
Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? I'd see us! I think Sarah's songs are really genuine and different to anything else; the live versions are super fun and "chillvibes". It's worth it just to hear the Juno 106 and Korg MS-20 on stage.
