Short description of your band and your music: Juvenile seven-piece hip hop jam thingamajiggies.
Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? Playing early at festivals is pretty sick; you've got nothing better to do but get 'turnt' for the rest of the day.
What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? We've been super lucky in a lot of ways! We're supporting Tame Impala on tour in September, which is still unbelievable to us — that's gonna be amazing.
Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? If you're making music to get rich you're getting rich the hard way. One of the nice things about musicians is it's so damn hard to make money that it filters out heaps of douchebags.
Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? Most of our songs are written from live jams but we haven't been saying, 'we can't record that because we don't have that pedal to use live'. They're separate things, just like theatre and film.
If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? Thundercat seems like a hell chill dude, plus I don't know if you could really get tired of hearing fresh blistering bass solos every night.
What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? A) How to break the US market. B) How to fix the US market. C) How to apologise to the US for breaking its market in a convincingly sincere way.
What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? Oh man, there are so many great musicians I'd love to see/meet: Donny Benét, Ngaiire, Dorsal Fins, Harvey Sutherland, Friendships, Baro, Jaala, Mangelwurzel, Sex On Toast plus a few Perth locals like Mathas and Methyl Ethel.
Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? If you don't you'll make our rapper cry.
