Member/Role: Max (drummer)

Hometown: Melbourne

Short description of your band and your music: Alt-pop duo from Melbourne mashing delicate pop melodies with curious alternative instrumentation.

Has the party side of the music industry been all you were hoping for so far in your career? Haha, we have a long way to go up the party-time ladder. We're still stuck on dreg rider beers. House espresso martinis at BIGSOUND will change all that, right?

What is the best thing that's happened to you/your band so far? Playing at NYE On The Hill 2014 was pretty special. Happily, we'll be making our way there again for the closure of 2015.

Are your ambitions mainly artistic or commercial? Most definitely artistic. We produce whatever comes naturally and spontaneously between us. Fingers crossed that results in a unique contribution to the greater good of music.

Is your music best rendered in the studio or the live realm? As most of our songs are spawned on a whim in rehearsals, that initial spark and energy is best captured live.

If you could have any act past or present join you on your next tour who would you tap? David Bowie 1972 — I want to know what madness and frivolities went down after those shows... or do I?

What industry lessons would you like to take away from the BIGSOUND conference? An insight into the peculiarities of performing overseas would be really interesting. As we desire at some point to perform abroad, tips and tricks for performing in certain territories would be uber-valuable.

What acts are you looking forward to checking out at the BIGSOUND showcase? Love to catch those sparkling melodies of Caitlin Park, that Gang Of Youths and Caulfield because the vocalist is an absolute pocket rocket.

Why should people come and see you from amongst the many cool bands at BIGSOUND? Because we madly flail around on stage whilst singing the most sumptuous of pop hooks. Fat synths, live looping, double drumming = mighty goodness.
