Position/Title: Director/Head Of Digital at Comes With Fries
How did you first become involved in the music industry and how did you end up where you are today? Through tenures at Nokia and T-Mobile, it was my love of music that inevitably transpired into a move into music via EMI. It was only when I started to dictate my own story through my digital label services company, Comes With Fries, that I found my space in this industry.
What's been the biggest change in the music industry you've seen over the past 12 months? I think the biggest change has been the acknowledgement of story-led marketing, the always-on mentality, and agility in managing release campaigns.
What do you think will be the biggest issue affecting the music industry in the next 12 months and why? There are two issues that I am closely watching over the next 12 months. The first being the landscape and the pathways to 'break' new artists. Second, the pace of technology, disruption and the lack of data to track it.
What advice would you give young practitioners in your area starting out today? A couple of things. One, be curious. Two, never stop learning. Three, build relationships. Four, be a good listener.
