Open up your wardrobes and grab hold of your most vibrant outfits: Adelaide’s beloved glitter-spangled Feast Festival is back this November.
Feast Festival is one of Australia’s four major queer festivals, alongside Perth's Pride Festival, Melbourne's Midsumma, and the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. In operation since 1997, Feast Festival brings together a stunning variety of LGBTQIA+ multi-disciplinary performers and artists. From cabaret and drag, music, and parties to literature, comedy, workshops and more, all these different acts are brought together by the open and honest belief that the arts truly have the power to “change hearts and minds.”

Feast Festival annually proves itself to be a crucial character in the South Australian arts world, not only providing members of the queer community with a deeply necessary safe, welcoming, and celebratory environment, but also providing colourful and meaningful entertainment for all festival-goers.
Tish Naughton, the CEO of Feast Festival, declares, “Feast is storytelling at its finest. Stories that make you cry and make you laugh. Coming out stories. Stories of pain and despair. Stories of queer joy. Stories that make you feel seen and heard. Stories that can make you feel visible and make you want to stay. Stories that affirm your existence and help you discover who you are.”
The festival is taking place over a two and half week period, from November 9th to November 24th, and there is sure to be something there for everyone.
The major event Fab @ the Lab promises an array of queer Australian music acts, with live performances from egoism, Mum Thinks Blue, and THE MONDAYS, and a DJ set from Samuel Graves.
Other events include a screening of cult musical classic Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Palace Nova, or a showing of the Fringe-award-winning musical revue Noel and Gertie, Down and Dirty, live at Diverse-City.
Lylah Bloom Productions is also excited to present Come Into My World, a show that will pay tribute to Kylie Minogue, through the arts of Burlesque, Circus, Drag, Fire Arts and Cabaret.
These are just a few of the many glittering events on offer.
Feast Festival urges people of all creeds to celebrate authenticity with them this November.
