New Music: Ryan Hemsworth - shh#000000 Compilation
Download the second installment of Ryan Hemsworth's Secret Songs compilation.. If only more producers were as benevolent with their research and dubs as our ol’ m8 Ryan Hemsworth. Hemsworth’s Secret Songs Soundcloud is where he gets behind music he’s vibing, with new tracks usually uploaded every couple of weeks for free download. What started out as something fairly simple has grown into a thriving platform for burgeoning artists and a go-to repository for weird music nerds like us. Today, Hemsworth released his sophomore Secret Songs compilation, a collection of original, new music the Canadian producer has unearthed from the depths of his Internet / email / Twitter DMs. No idea why it’s called "secret" songs though, because Ryan Hemsworth getting behind an emerging artist is like sounding a giant air horn across the Internet. Case in point being UK-based J-pop trio Kero Kero Bonito, who featured on Hemsworth’s first ever Secret Songs compilation, released in September last year. Whe

New Music: iLoveMakonnen EP Re-Release
The 'Tuesday' rapper is re-releasing his self-titled EP on Drake's label, OVO.. Now that Drake's signed Atlanta rap oddball/legend iLoveMakonnen (Makonnen Sheran) to his label, OVO, Drake's decided he's going to re-release iLoveMakonnen's self-titled EP, ILOVEMAKONNEN, on Dec 15. The original EP dropped in July but didn't take off straight away, until Tuesday became a runaway hit (not to mention basically a pop culture phrase) and the hype ball started rolling (probably had everything to do with that cover our Pilerats' Records artists HAMJAM did, TBH). It's contemporary Atlanta rap scene vibes all the way, with features from Father and Key! (as well as Drake, on Tuesday), and production from Mike WiLL Made It (who recently released the tracklist to his own much-anticpated mixtape, Ransom) and Metro Boomin. Rumour has it that iLoveMakonnen's also got a lengthier project in the works with Mike WILL Made-It. The EP's out next week. Here's the tracklist: 1. I Don't Sell Molly No More (pro

BET Hip Hop Award Winners
Drake and DJ Mustard lead the way.. Filmed last month in Atlanta, tonight the BET Hip Hop Awards will air tonight in the States. For the second year Snoop Dogg hosted the rap spectacle, and the full list of winners were revealed today on the BET site. Hip hop heavyweight Drake scooped the pool, winning Album of The Year for Nothing Was The Same, and Video of the Year for Worst Behaviour (watch it here). DJ Mustard took home the DJ Of The Year gong as well as MVP Of The Year – not surprising considering the West Coast forefather pretty much has a monopoly over the game right now, having produced most of the #1s you’ve heard this year. YG, Young Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan were winners of Best Collab – Group for their track My N**ga (who could forget YG’s crazy reaction when he got nominated? You’ll find the full list of winners and nominees on BET’s site. Can’t believe Iggy won over Young Thug in Who Blew Up though. A moving moment came by way of beatboxing pioneer Doug E Fresh paying tr
