Beam this shit out to the far reaches; it’s next level stuff.

There’s probably two, maybe three times the amount of people in the room when Seabellies file out, but it sure as hell doesn’t feel like it, with not a single body willing to get within three metres of the stage.

"When we first came up with Empire, we didn’t have an audience, but now there is one and there’s demand and there are all these other responsibilities."

"Trying to get more into like [that] four people playing kinda feel. There’s really no rules about how you go about producing or recording a song, it’s all about what you think can make the best presentation of the idea."

No question, some of the harmonies here give you a bit of feeling, and there’s a few crunchy riffs that crash into you just the right way; but as a record Renacer doesn’t seem to know what it wants to be, which by the end leaves you just as confused.

"We had a few line-ups before this final [one] and you’d always get to a certain point and then someone would leave or you’d get to a certain amount of tracks on your setlist and then someone breaks an arm and you’d just have to start again."

For Deftones to come out and celebrate the music of their fallen friend so emphatically, it’s probably the most touching tribute they could send towards the clouds.
