Phil Jamieson Cancels Solo Tour Dates Following Onstage Injury

Phil Jamieson has announced the cancellation of a number of solo tour dates, with an onstage injury necessitating the rocker to take it easy for the foreseeable future.

Jamieson, who is currently gearing up to release his 10Charlie album on Friday, August 14th, has been on the road almost constantly since early June, with his expansive solo trek also seeing the Grinspoon frontman capping ticket prices at $50 in the face of the cost of living crisis.

However, Friday, August 7th saw Jamieson taking to The Deck in Traralgon, Victoria for what was planned to be a regular show. On Saturday, August 8th, Jamieson took to social media to reveal the tour had been “unexpectedly grounded” due to “an on-stage accident”.

Now, Jamieson has expounded on the situation, additionally announcing the unfortunate cancellation of the remainder of these tour dates.

“On Friday night I slipped on stage and my spine connected to the drum riser,” he explained. “I was unable to continue with the gig and got an ambulance to Latrobe Hospital.

“I spent most of Friday in emergency getting different tests etc and by 4am I was confirmed to have fractured my L1 (lower back guy), with a prescription of bed rest and a long road to recovery.

“This means, sigh, that the tour is cancelled :(“

He continued:

Venues/ticketing agencies should be in contact with you for refunds. No-one is more bummed about this than me, but I can’t stand up let alone play a gig at the moment.

ALBUM is still out on Friday. While we won’t be launch partying together anymore...if you feel like wrapping your earholes around It, I would be grateful. Lots of work went into it and I love it.

The affected dates include shows in Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales, Western Australia, and the Northern Territory, which had been scheduled to keep Jamieson on the road until mid-September.

Jamieson’s 10Charlie record is still scheduled to arrive on August 14th, but for the foreseeable future, PJ notes he will be “in my pjs for the foreseeable future”.
