Live Review: PREMIERE: GLVES delivers epic cinematic visuals for new single 'Heal Me'

Lutruwita (Tasmania) born, Kaurna (Adelaide) raised, now Meanjin (Brisbane) based First Nations singer-songwriter GLVES debuts her new video today for her latest single, 'Heal Me'. A deeply spiritual listening experience, 'Heal Me' provides a moment of introspection and reflection, paired with enthralling electronica to create a fully fledged moment for the emerging artist.

Calling on a higher power to ‘make her life flower’, Heal Me is the follow up to GLVES' debut release, 'Abyss' in early 2020. Inspired by her deep appreciation of her Kaurareg Aboriginal (Waiben/Thursday Island) and Fijian, Samoan and Tongan heritage, and an innate yearning for greater connection to her culture, 'Heal Me' sees GLVES calling on a higher power to ‘make her life flower’ while simultaneously showing there is still plenty more she's got to show as an artist.

The video itself, premiering on Purple Sneakers today, amplifies this even more. Showing GLVES in an almost otherworldly setting, she traverses the desert terrain in search of something. When she finds it, she realises it was within her all along, speaking to the power of connecting not only with her heritage and culture but her true self as well.

2020 has been a year of many achievements for GLVES, with this video serving as yet another accolade she can add to her growing resume. Creating from a place of exploring her emotional landscape to find healing and self-acceptance, GLVES continues to prove she's not afraid of delving into her inner-most thoughts and ambitious enough to pull of a fusion of so many influences and sounds.
