Bondax are one of the most talked about acts at the moment. And it's no wonder why, their latest single, 'Gold', is some next level beats loving goodness.
So BONDAX are back in style... Wait? Who are Bondax again? Well although they seem to sound like they're a stationery company, they are in fact one of the most talked about acts at the moment. And it's no wonder why - considering that their latest single, 'Gold', is some next level beats loving goodness.
You may have heard of this Lancaster duo before from us, and that's probably because we're one of the many outlets playing their tracks on loop whilst salivating all over pictures of them. They were one of our Artists To Watch In 2013 (which we're pretty happy to say we have gotten right so far) and lately we've featured a couple of remixes of the new single by Star Slinger and De$ignated. And now that we're on the subject we're back again with the official video clip for 'Gold'.

The track itself is a low-tempo fusion of garage, house and hip-hop that illustrates their incredible talent within songwriting and production skills. The clip however takes a different approach... It centres itself around the idea of the title of the track and follows a wealthy young entrepreneur as he showers before being possessed by his 'Gold' watch.
It's a clip that has stirred a little bit of controversy within Bondax's new fans with many venting in the Noisey's YouTube comments. Here are a couple of our favourites:
Directed by Sam Pilling, a UK guy who has been responsible for clips by SBTRKT and WU LYF in the past, the video leaves a lot up to the imagination. And whether or not it's a deeper look into a the mind of a dude tripping balls on Salvia, the possessive nature of prosperity or the oppressive industry of gold body paint production - both he and Bondax are gaining some serious traction with this one.
And whilst we're here, we also have a stream of another seriously impressive remix of 'Gold', this time it comes from US producer MOON BOOTS. The remix strips back the garage nature of the original and replaces it with some seriously slick Disco-y, R&B-y, Dance-y vibes.
So there you have it. Yet another reason why you should be keeping both eyes on Bondax, we know we will.
