If you were lucky enough to have secured a ticket and caught this show before it wrapped up, you will have undoubtedly enjoyed yourself.
The Strange Undoing Of Prudencia Hart has been one of the most talked about Perth Festival shows this year. With a sold-out performance run, the play has generated a lot of interest among festival lovers and deservedly so.
Walking into the room, tables are set up in groups and you quickly realise this isn't going to be your average theatre show. You are then handed a napkin and told to “make snow” out of it. Yep, no one does it quite like the National Theatre Of Scotland.
If you only like traditional theatre and the F-word bothers you, then this play probably wasn't for you. If you enjoy offbeat humour, hilarious dialogue and some excellent acting, then this play would have been right up your alley. From discussions on ballads, crowd singalongs and rendezvous with the devil, the five-person cast brings the story to life with adept talent. While the plot does seem to lack a little bit of depth along the way, the cast consistently brings your attention back to them.
If you were lucky enough to have secured a ticket and caught this show before it wrapped up, you will have undoubtedly enjoyed yourself. If you didn't then unfortunately you missed out on one of the absolute highlights of this year's festival.
