Melbourne’s Foreign/National had a psychedelic-hypnotic feel and played with ease. As they belted out latest track, Always Blue, the crowd bopped along knowingly. This is certainly a band to watch out for!

There was no missing Moses Gunn Collective in all their glitter and gold. They encapsulated the best parts of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘90s beautifully, channelling early Ritchie Blackmore at times but with their own take on each musical genre. They finished with Shalala in all its dreaminess, which sent them off perfectly as they glistened in the lights.

To the beat of Big Sean’s I Don’t Fuck With You the Jungle Giants riled up the crowd as they made their entrance to the stage. They began with popular track Come And Be Alone With Me and followed with well-known favourites Mr Polite and Domesticated Man, sending the crowd wild. The Jungle Giants are incredible live performers who transform themselves from a band that, on record, appears chilled to a band that is completely rocking, energetic, punchy and even a little grungy. Frontman Sam Hales built amazing rapport with the punters, who shadowed his every move. He was the life-blood of the band. At the end of She’s A Riot Hales, in an enthusiastic attempt to give an up close and personal performance to his adoring front row, accidentally fell off the stage and into their arms, bringing the mic and stand down with him. It was pretty hilarious and thankfully no one was injured. One of the trampled fans took it as an opportunity to ask Hales for a selfie! The Jungle Giants ended with their latest tune, Every Kind Of Way, which, although it’s a great song, doesn’t work well live. The Jungle Giants are an outstanding band who contribute that something extra to their live performance!
