Live Review: Celebrate 19 years of Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Outta My Head' with Tom Snowdon's incredible cover

Nearly 20 years ago today, history was made with the release of Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Outta My Head'. The song is still relevant today thanks to its dance floor-oriented beat, a hook that never really leaves your head, and those iconic visuals. It is one of Minogue's many, many hits, and to this day is an immediate floor filler all over the world. It's a song that is widely adored by so many people, and has been reimagined many times throughout the years, but one recent reimagination has had us fall in love all over again.

Tom Snowdon, one half of No Mono, has recently shared a cover of the iconic song, completely disassembling it and rebuilding it as a ghostly, RnB reincarnation we can't get enough of. His own unique vocals are looped over a thick bassline, watery piano and writhing percussion, honing in on the yearning and inescapable pressure that comes with obsession. Where Minogue's version flirted with desire and almost enticed you to follow suit, Snowdon's version taps into desperation, creating a borderline menacing struggle of the tension that comes with the helpless fixation on another.

This cover marks the start of a new chapter for Snowdon, who released the cover alongside the news of a new EP titled Channel. Out next month on October 7th, the EP is a collection of covers that at once pays homage to one of Snowdon's favourite albums, the covers album Messenger by Yorta Yorta artist Jimmy Little, while paving the way for him as a solo artist. Having already carved out a name for himself with No Mono as well as his collaborative work with bandmates and co-writers, Snowdon now steps into his own spotlight and with a first impression as brilliant as this, we cannot wait to hear more.
