Giraffage has payed homage to one of his musical heroes by remixing an entire LP.

Many musicians ponder ways that they can pay tribute to their influences and heroes who have created such wonderful tracks that they have loved over the years.

San Francisco producer GIRAFFAGE has pondered this question and come up with a remix EP that pays tribute to one of his musical inspirations.

In 2007, THE DREAM released  his debut album 'Love/Hate', and GIRAFFAGE has decided that remixing the entire LP would be the perfect way to toast one of his heroes. The remix LP has that real GIRAFFAGE flavour that we've come to know from all of his previous releases, but some tracks on the release deliver some unexpected surprises.

The first track 'Shawty Is Da Shit' has futurist hip hop elements that we can all recognise as his own. It's dipping synths and slightly distorted vocals create a very smooth and laid-back adaptation and is some wonderful easy listening for a quiet afternoon. 'I Luv Your Girl' is equally as smooth with a very slow beat and the vocal track slowed oh so slightly, GIRAFFAGE has created yet another gem that has definitely got something wonderful going on. 'Fast Car' begins as another pretty soft number with a much heavier beat.

Soon though, we are treated to a very upbeat chorus where we hear a sweet vocal track layered across the bright, summery synths. The throwback late nineties R'n'B emerges on 'Falsetto' reminding you of the days of gold chains, fluffy bucket hats and those tinted shades, the era shines through a steady beat and some bright synths that tend to swing into house territory ever so slightly before we venture all the way in on 'Purple Kisses'.

GIRAFFAGE has turned THE DREAM's Love/Hate LP into a wonderful mix of chilled R'n'B and house jams. The man knows his stuff and what's more, he's letting everybody download the remix LP for free. The free download doesn't have an expiry date so everybody can grab it in their own time.

What a treat!
