Comedian, actor, TV and radio presenter Dave Thornton hosted the night's show, warming up the full house by telling stories of his experiences of stand-up in the United States. Imitating an American fan, he said, "Australia is the most dangerous country in the world," and followed through with comments on America's loose gun laws: "C'mon, Australia's at most number two!"
New Zealand comedy personality Cal Wilson strolled on stage claiming she had suddenly turned 45, and talked of seducing and annoying her husband in the most ridiculous scenarios. She told us of her imaginary friend 'Pamimina' keeping her company on long road trips from Melbourne to Sydney and pranking her husband with the same joke 11 years into their marriage.
Akmal followed through with a brilliant set and semi-aggressive but enlightening rant, talking of his "super white" wife who was practically the "Adam Hills of women". He mentioned the booting of Tony Abbott as PM, and Abbott's repetitive use of the 'turn back the boats' slogan: "Aboriginals were saying, why didn't we think of that? Because Tony Abbott wasn't around."

Lehmo hopped on and spent the majority of his time on stage talking of his the living conditions between him and his wife, how he used to be an accountant and "Lifesavers get a show, vets get a show... Accountants need a TV show too! ...Maybe Accountant Needs A Wife?"
Rhys Nicholson waltzed on stage with a sharp suit, an even sharper wit, and an elegance and maturity far beyond his 25 years. He commented on everything from looking like ET with a pot belly, to "Gen Y cynicism" and homophobia, stating, "There aren't that many jobs for homophobes except high ranking political and religious figures."
Hannah Gadsby rounded up the night with her subtle, slightly dark, self-deprecating but quirky style of humour, telling us of accidentally killing off her worm farm (twice) and cooking eggs and toast at breakfast for her nieces.
