"It’s pretty much a nostalgia exercise – albeit well-built."
In their ‘80s heyday, Eurogliders based their chart success on Bernie Lynch’s pop songcraft, Grace Knight’s swooping voice and a visual style owing much to contemporary English new romanticism. But squelchy synths – not to mention the haircuts – fell from fashion, and the band – not to mention Bernie’s and Grace’s marriage – seeped away. Three decades on the basic sturdiness of the songs remains, recast here in almost rootsy acoustic form. New tunes like Little Star are even more country tinged, and Knight’s jazzy vocals still spiral. But it’s pretty much a nostalgia exercise – albeit well-built.
