"A brilliant show with captivating honesty and incredible acting."
Drunk Girl is a captivating play that explores the relationship young females have with alcohol. From Quebec, Canada, Thea Fitz-James also tackles the controversial issue of sexual assault in today's society, putting forward that the drinking culture is the blame, but not the people who commit the crimes.
The one-woman show brings together stories from Fitz-James' life and she employs different characters, ranging from her younger, party-crazy self to an older academic that relies heavily on alcohol. Her fear of looking into the mirror and seeing her alcoholic mother within herself was something that many in the crowd could relate to, their eyes glued to Fitz-James and hanging on every word.
Her use of props was impressive, especially the way wine drained from her glass as she spoke.
