Album Review: Crobot - Something Supernatural

StarStarStarStarHalf Star

"This record will funk up your day."

Imagine a world without metal. If Something Supernatural tells us anything, it's that we never have to: even if metal hadn't spawned from the blues and rock’n’roll of the ‘60s, a bunch of bastards would have come along and invented it eventually.

The band have managed to one-up the current mass of retro-doom bands by dropping an album that is less throwback and more reinvention. Crobot make flirting with the devil cool again, with unapologetically modern production carrying their funky jams. Is it Cream with Bootsy Collins? Chic with Myles Kennedy? Either way, this record will funk up your day.
