Now we know why they call it dream-pop – it puts one to sleep.
The Blonde Tongues’ self-titled debut is full of mellow songs to get one relaxed after a long day’s work. Hey Good Lookin’ is a little more upbeat but Beer is probably the only good song here, with amusing lyrics like “I can’t stand the sight of you, when we make love in my dreams.” Unfortunately the music is louder than the vocals on some songs, making it hard to engage with the music. It’s a pleasant album but will leave you disappointed… and sleepy.
