"They won’t be able to shake their asses forever."

More Backstreet Boys More Backstreet Boys

Oh my god they're back again, brothers, sisters everybody sing because Backstreet's back, ALRIGHT!

AJ McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson and Brian Littrell appeared as silhouettes onstage as it illuminated red, five glorious embodiments of all that was right about the nineties.

The Backstreet Boys turned Backstreet Men, launched straight into a choreographed set of The Call, Don’t Want You Back and Incomplete, which sent the crowd into hysteria.

In matching blue suits, they brought all the moves that we know and love, taking us back to our youth and encouraging us to “act like you’re 15 years old again tonight”.

The audience of mostly 25 to 40 year old women could barely contain their excitement as the five slightly aged heartthrobs delivered a generous two hour set of nineties classics and new songs from their In A World Like This album.

The band’s choreographed classics were the real crowd pleasers with Carter showing off his flamboyant boy band dance moves a little more passionately than the other four.

After a quick outfit change into nineties streetwear, the guys all brandished instruments for a quick acoustic set. Dorough joked that being able to play as well as sing and dance is a way of future-proofing the band as they won’t be able to shake their asses forever. He then proceeded to shake his ass for us.

Newer tracks gave the crowd an opportunity to rest their feet, as the songs are a lot slower, with no awesome choreography to go along with them - but they were catchy enough.

The guys finished with an energetic encore of Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) and Larger Than Life, where Littrell ran into the crowd, sending them into meltdown.
