Converse Sneakers Clash Wall
Alex Lehours, Sheryo & The Yok combine with you for an incredible mural.. Last weekend saw the completion of a massive mural in Fremantle as part of a series of artistic installations across the globe - the Converse Sneakers Clash Wall. Using the hashtag #sneakerclashfreo hundreds of submissions were sent in acrossa Australia for ideas for street artists Sheryo, The Yok and Alex Lehours to take over 1-5 South Terrace, a large and previously very bland infrastructure. The results, as you can see below, are nothing short of spectacular. The first couple of images show some of the ideas that were submitted, and how they ended up as the final product. Sneakers Clash is inspired by the Spring 2014 Converse All Star Sneaker Collection, the hero of the collection being the Converse All Star Chuck 70 - a new take on the American icon. The six original colours and two prints of the Converse All Star Chuck '70 were the colour inspiriation for the mural, as evidenced below. Head to the Convers

Know Your Splendour - Darlia
Meet some of the acts you'll be seeing at Splendour 2014.. UK trio Darlia will be making their Australian debut at this year's Splendour In The Grass, along with a couple of sideshows to boot. All the dates and the video clip for their single Candyman after a brief intro with Nathan from the group. Who are you? Nathan Day of Darlia, the ‘Blackpool Rock’ band. How’d you meet? We were cleaners. We used to hide our stuff in bin bags to sneak out to gigs and play music in the music block. I ‘cleaned’ the school guitars with my bare hands. Resulted in a consequential prompt firing and permanent smell of bleach. What kinda tunes we talkin’? The kinda tunes that a magpie whistles as it steals silver from a jewellery shop. Production/writing process: I write everything and take it to the band to bring it to life. It’s basically singer/songwriter on steroids.  What do you do outside of Darlia? There is no outside of Darlia. You know that really cliched line of ‘We live and breathe it’ - well I

cln - Better Than
The kids keep getting younger, and the beats keep getting better.. Better Than is 18-year-old Brissy producer cln's new single, and it's the first taste of his forthcoming EP, Sideways. I've been following his progress for a while, including remixes of tracks like Disclosures' White Noise, and Kilter's They Say, which were cool without blowing the proverbial roof off. So it gives me great pleasure today to share with you Better Than, because it stands head and shoulders above those remixes - which is all you want when it comes to originals. I guess you'd slide it under the 'chilltrap' genre, if that's a thing, and the warped vocal samples combine nicely with a tough drum-snare combo that keeps it from being super-down-tempo. I can't wait for the EP, out June 11, and until then I suggest you download Better Than for free, give cln a follow on FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD, and keep your ears peeled for more releases as they come.

Introducing - East Of Ely
Celebrating a new EP and east coast tour, meet Sydney five-piece East Of Ely.. East Of Ely are a five-piece fresh out of Sydney that fall somewhere between the Naked & Famous and The Temper Trap, and they've just released their debut EP and announced a mini east coast tour to celebrate. Press play on the lead single Easy Friend, and get to know 'em a little better below: Who are you? We are collectively known as East Of Ely. A quintet based out of Sydney with all our gear housed at Cavers Inn. How’d you meet? Having all played with each other at some point in past projects, Moeaki’s sweet apartment seemed the logical place to store our vintage gear. We share an appreciation for cool looking hardware and cheesy covers, which led to ideas from which the band was formed. What kinda tunes we talkin’? ‘Alt pop’ was quoted recently... I think we fall somewhere between Chrvches and Naked & Famous, but love Panama Wedding and Pigeon. Most tracks are recorded live in a studio or Chris’s bedroo

RBMA x SITG
Red Bull Music Academy has announced their Splendour In The Grass stage, for those playing at home.. One of the few memories that have stuck with me from Splendour In The Grass last year was pretty much every night finding myself wandering over to the Red Bull Music Academy stage in a fit of lost bewilderment, and without fail finding a killer dancefloor pimped out with incredibule electronic music and mind-wobbling visuals. I didn't always figure out who was playing, but not a time went by that I didn't visit that stage and have a rad dance and get some sweet time away form the hussle and bussle of Splendour In The Grass. The RBMA Stage is returning to Splendour In The Grass this year, and they've just announced another killer line-up of acts you might know, and ones you might not, but each and every one will no doubt provide a unique sonic environment for you to have THE BEST TIME. The line-up so far looks a little something like this: Young Franco Flamingo Cassius Select Remi Sampol

Friday Freebie(s): Go Freek & Embassy
One banger and one chiller this week.. Today we present you with a tune from either side of the spectrum, depending on what kinda weekend you have planned. For those who like to rock, Sydney duo on the come-up Go Freek have a lot to celebrate. Their single We Can Ride has been killing it on the charts and in the clurbs of late, and they've just signed with Art Killers Artist Management & PR, so they've chucked Milkshakes up in the cloud for free. As you can guess by the title it's a gutter-house take on the Kelis classic about her dairy products and their penchant for attracting people of the male persuasion to a section of land on or around some buildings. Go Freek have very quickly established a knack for killer drops, and this is no different. For those taking it easy this weekend, perhaps sipping on some tea in the lush surrounds of a georgous back yard (totes yards themes going on today), we have Embässy and the first in a five part series - his remix of What If, by Milan. We've
