World domination is surely imminent.. Following radio-slaying bangers Brontosaurus and Handle My Ego, Tkay Maidza is continuing her killer roll in 2014 with new single U-Huh. Something akin to the stylings of MIA and Azealia Banks (minus the diva bullshit), Tkay has carved a strong-as-fuck name for herself very quickly following some self-assured live shows on the last LV Presents tour, and will no doubt win a buttload of new fans when she takes on Splendour In The Grass this coming weekend. Something about her harder - at times electro -edged take on hip hop tickles me in the right places, and I can't wait to see her dominate the rest of this year and beyond. One of CIRCO's many bright lights have announced a new album.. For some members of the Pilerats office, getting ODESZA to Australia had been a project some three years in the making. To finally have them over last month to play at CIRCO Festival was, to put it bluntly, fucking awesome. Three years of incredible music, a bunch of free EPs/releases, their beautiful track Sun Models killing it on the first ever Pilerats RAT PACK COMPILATION, and talk of a cracking live show all lived up to the hype when they rocked probably the biggest crowd the trippy as shit Cannonball Stage had all day. The fact they were a couple of super-nice dudes (read an interview with them HERE) was just a bonus, and we like to think this is the beginning of a long and fruitful relationship between the duo and Australia for years to come. They've just announced their new album, In Return, is due for release September 9, 2014, and have dropped a new track to celebrate - Memories That You Call (feat. Monsoonsiren).

This is a guy you're going to be hearing a shitload about for the rest of 2014.. Sliding iPhone sounds into tracks is pretty genius. If your song is playing somewhere and people aren't already listening, that shit grabs your attention right off the bat. Just ask Knife Party. Fortunately, unlike that particularly exruciating slice of electro-house, UV Boi's debut single, Thank U, is an incredibly endearing piece of 808-production, featuring the smooth vocals of Fionn Richards, and properly endorsed by the likes of Nina Las Vegas and Ryan Hemsworth: He's so chuffed with it, he's giving it away for free, and taking around the country starting next Friday. Ginger & The Ghost. Always refusing to be tied down to genre tags, this track still feels like the twosome have reach something akin to "their sound", and it's epic. Andy Bull celebrates his new album with a national tour, plus Kilter drops a sweet remix of Talk Too Much.. Andy Bull last week announced his 'Sea Of Approval' national tour, celebrating the release of his much-anticipated second LP of the same name, out via Island Records last Friday. Sea Of Approval is an open and personal body of work - his unique voice and acoustic piano is backed with a myriad synthesizers, samples, glitches and more, with Bull as always playing every and all instrument on the record. The 2014 Radiothon is taking over four Northbridge venues for an epic pledge drive kick-off.. Perth institution RTRFM is an entirely self-funded enterprise, and each year for 10 days the radio station calls on you, the listeners, to give a little back over the course of a 10-day Radiothon Pledge Drive. One of the many ways you can do it (check HERE for all the details) is simply by attending the 2014 Radiothon Party, going down Friday August 15 across four Northbridge venues - The Bakery, The Bird, Ya Ya's and Flyrite. Each venue hosts four unique line-ups, featuring some of Perth's best and brightest: THE BAKERY - Savoir, Rainy Day Women, Kučka, Davey Craddock & The Spectacles and The Weapon is Sound. YA YA's - Dream Rimmy, Loners, HAMJAM and Hideous Sun Demon.

Sydney electronic duo We Are The Brave gave us their new clip for the Aus' premiere.. Emerging Sydney electro-pop duo We Are The Brave first came to our attention earlier this year with the release of their EP Noctua, and have been steadily carving a niche out for themselves ever since. This brings us to now, where we're very proud to present the Australian premiere of a beautiful new video clip for their new single, Your Ghost (but if HERE). The haunting Your Ghost clip was shot by emerging young director, James Chappell, and co-produced by Chalker, drawing on a host of references such as Beetle Juice and The Crow. "This clip was built on what felt like a string of disasters," laughs co-producer Chalker. "But the amazing thing was, almost all of them ended being fortuitous events that led to the clip becoming even more special than it might have otherwise been." Your Ghost precedes We Are The Brave’s second EP, due later in the year, and if you're vibing on this noir-ish synthy sound
