Arca - Thievery
Mysterious and unclassifiable Venezuelan producer Arca announces his debut album.. I first came aross Arca a fair while ago now, when our record label boss pointed him out in THIS POST about some producers people should be getting their ears around. Here's what he said at the time: "...Bucket loads of proper haunting synth work and drum sounds like a frikkin army of skeletons banging on barrels. The perfect soundtrack to a rave in a graveyard, with more groove than Mid West miserablists Salem, and the dripping tap gloop of Balam Acab, it's equally likely to appeal to fans of Darkhouse Fam, Coco Bryce, or any of those other neck snapping LA/UK beat wizards. Levels!" If that doesn't pique your interest, know Arca was one of many incredible underground producers Kanye West employed to help bring Yeezus to life. I can't really do Arca's sound anymore justice than that, and his dark, dense, atmospheric brand of electronica will soon find its way onto his debut album, titled Xen, and due Nov

Streets Of Laredo - Slow Train
Streets Of Laredo bring the psychedelic feels on their new video clip.. Brooklyn-based, New Zealand outfit Streets Of Laredo have released a nicely tripped-out video for their single Slow Train, from their upcoming album Volume I & II out October 3, via Dine Alone Records. Founded by family members Daniel, Dave and Sarahjane Gibson, and inspired by the '70s folk-rock circuit, Streets Of Laredo bring plenty of Edward Shape vibes - in sounds and band size, but with a spin on it that's very unique to them. I've seen the phrase "Bob Dylan running late to a Ramones concert" bandied about, and it's simply too perfect not to share. The family made the bold move of getting out of New Zealand and moving to Brooklyn, and it seems so far so good - I can envision maximum swaying/dancing/hugs to these guys live. Flight Facilities - Two Bodies feat. Emma Louise
We have lift off.. Flight Facilities would have to be one of the most consistent acts in Australian, nay, global dance music going around. For the past few years they've consistently pushed out single after single of feel-good disco and house, and while some break out a little stronger than others, it's all liquid gold as far as this guy is concerned. Two Bodies, featuring another perfect vocalist in Emma Louise, is a subdued introduction to their upcoming debut album release, Down To Earth, due October 24 via Future Classic/Glassnote. A bubbly slice of chill-house, and also serves as a little comment on the guys' success thus far: "I don't think if you say commercial means to be publicly acceptable, what's wrong with that?" Text Message Interview: Pat Stevenson
AKA Hobogestapo AKA Hobopat AKA Hobophonics AKA legend.. In an effort to take a break from invading the personal phone space of musicians, we thought who else could we annoy that could send us some visual gold that isn't just emojis? The answer was obvious, and we jumped on the phone with Pat Stevenson AKA Hobopat, part of the Hobogestapo Photography Collective and also Hobophonics DJs. With an uncanny knack for documenting the best (and worst) of nightlife around the country, he's also joins the likes of Peking Duk and RUFUS on tours and festivals around Australia to peek behind the scenes of your favourite Aussie music celebs. Needless to say, dude's got some stories, and some fucking killer photos. Follow Hobogestapo: FACEBOOK // WEBSITE Follow Hobophonics: FACEBOOK

Interview: Slow Magic
Slow Magic's new album is out today, and that is cause for celebration.. Today sees the release of the follow-up to 2012’s beloved and critically acclaimed ∆ album, and How To Run Away reflects uncharted growth for masked forest imaginery friend, Slow Magic. Oozing both otherworldly beauty and a mastery of production, we've already been teased with a couple of singles in Girls and Hold Still, which you can enjoy below during my brief chat with Slow Magic, for once on a tiny break out of the touring schedule, along with a video feature we filmed with him while in Australia earlier this year: Hey man how’s it going? Where abouts are you today? Secretly I’m in Colarado right now. I have a little bit of break here getting ready for the US tour. Few and far between? Yeah I just got here and I’m about to leave soon ha ha. Congrats on the album, what’s your vibe on the eve of its release? Yeah I mean I’m definitely really excited for people to finally hear it, a little bit nervous I think, j

SBTRKT Releases 2 New Tracks
The hype towards SBTRKT's next album grows and grows.. London-based producer, songwriter and multi-instrumental masked wonder SBTRKT has dropped two new tracks from his upcoming sophomore LP Wonder Where We Land, due September 26. We'll dispense with the pleasantries and get straight to the music - Voices In My Head feat. A$Ap Ferg, and Higher feat. Raury.  On the A$AP Ferg colab - "I started this in London with an idea I recorded on an upright piano - took this to Los Angeles (set up at Fleas the Boat studio in Silver Lake) collaborating further with Stella (drums) & Emily (vocals) from Warpaint - took this back to london to work more arrangement ideas to it and finally a couple months later took that to New York (Downtown - The Roots were in the studio next door!) and collaborated with Ferg (out to our friend Callender for connecting us). This is one of my fave tracks and seemed to be a fitting ending to the record too. This started with me having a seed idea but seeing it grow way
