Video: Arca - Thievery *Aus' Premiere*
A very special - and weird - Aus' premiere for you of Arca's latest single video clip.. As mentioned when we posted the track INITIALLY, we've been excited about the work of producer Arca since some time early last year, and we've been feverishly anticipating new music from him since. His dense and darkly-layered productions are about to find a home on Arca's debut album, Xen, due November 7 via Mute and Create/Control. He released Thievery a couple of weeks ago, an immense and immersive experience, cinematic in scope, unpredictable, and so beautifully composed, and we're incredibly excited/honoured to premiere its twisted video clip today, directed by longtime collaborator Jesse Kanda, who is also in charge of the album artwork. There's not really many words for the clip, except that it feels exactly right for a producer like Arca, so just enjoy it below: Follow Arca: FACEBOOK // WEBSITE

New: Dreamers - Hopium (Two Can Remix)
Melbourne duo Two Can give Hopium's latest a bit of oomph.. After announcing themselves earlier this year with debut single Cut, and really stamping their place in the Australan electronic music scene with Dreamers featuring Snakadaktal's Phoebe Lou (listen to both HERE), it's fair to say Hopium are easily ones to watch in the latter half of this year and moving forward. Likewise, Melbourne brother duo Two Can have been releasing a steady stream of chilled trap tunes featuring tight production and an ear for melody, and that good form continues on this remix for Hopium. You can learn more about Two Can and hear some of their other work HERE, or get stuck into this free download of Dreamers below, giving the original a bit more kick, without losing any of its prettiness. The video was done with Melbourne filmmaker Matthew Chuang, and shot in the abandoned city of Pripyat in Ukraine, and traces a fictional former inhabitant’s movements through empty homes and schools deserted in 1986. The man’s attempts to revive memories of lost lives mirror Fractures’ bruised electronica for a powerful few minutes. New: River Yarra - The Look
V-fresh sounds from a new young Melbourne producer, River Yarra.. River Yarra is a new project from from Raudie McLeod, previously releasing music under his own name and also 1993. And while I haven't heard of those until now, or River Yarra til this single fell into my lap, I'm definiltey on board. The Look incorporates field recordings of rocks bring thrown into ponds and people yelling in forests, for something very unique. The closest example I could think of was Caribou, but that's just to try and give it some context. It's from an upcoming debut EP release, and is the perfect mix of subtle elements growing into an awesome groove. Raudie refers to it himself as "psychic-cosmic-bush-dance", and that's just about perfect. Follow River Yarra: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD

Montgomery - Piñata
I OH YOU's new bae drops the first official single from her New Clear War EP.. Following the introduction of DMA's earlier this year, I OH YOU have pretty quickly proven a knack for unearthing talent you may not know yet, but will quickly fall in love with. Such is the case for their latest signing, Montgomery, when they announced the young artist with the single War Cry (listen HERE) a couple of weeks back. We were instantly crushing hard, and the vibe only gets stronger after listening to the first official single from her upcoming New Clear War EP - Piñata. Same as War Cry, the track was co-produced by Montgomery and Tom Scary (Tom Iansek of Big Scary fame), and again carries a similar melancholic vibe, with rolling drums and Montgomery's ethereal vocals plucking at the heartstrings. It's a beautiful sound, and we can't wait for New Clear War to come out - October 24 via I OH YOU. Follow Montgomery: FACEBOOK // WEBSITE

Friday Freebie: Howl - Sports Challenge
A young Melbourne producer who makes tunes close to our heart.. Following a premiere via Run The Trap earlier this week, it's time for people who read our site to get around Melbourne's Howl. We don't know a whole lot about him, other than he's quite young, and his production skills are so tight-butthole it hurts. He's only got a few tunes up on the Soundcloud thus far, but his latest - Sports Challenge - is the real deal. Very much in the Sable/Wave Racer/Basenji mould, Sports Challenge features one of the toughest kick-snare combos we've heard in a while, but it's the diversity within the track itself that makes it an essential Friday Freebie. We hear murmurs of some Australian tour action, so keep your eyes peeled, and until then enjoy this and get ready for the freakin' weekend. Follow Howl: FACEBOOK // SOUNDCLOUD
