10/10 Would Listen: ICSSC
10 selections from the hip hop, rap and electronic world from the bossman of ICSSC.. The I Can't Stand Still Collective AKA ICSSC has been throwing parties with some of the world's raddest underground electronic/hip hop/rap acts around Perth (and Australia) for years now, and head honcho Daniel Dalton (who also runs Pilerats Records) probably spends more time listening to music in one week than you do all year. So along with Cloudwaves, Bad Noose and ourselves, will each month provide a list of 10 tunes he's been vibing on the most of late: Rich Gang - I Know Consisting of two of the hottest rappers in the world right now (Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan) and flanked by Cash Money head honcho and father figure to more than just a couple of dudes (Birdman), not even Gucci’s news tape can attract the attention away from this long overdue collaboration. It’s total fire. We can take or leave Birdman, but together Thugga and Rich Homie push each other even further down the ‘weirdo rap’ hol

I OH YOU - Mixtape Premiere/Text Message Interview
The masterminds behind I OH YOU get texting and celebrate the next Hospital Mixtape premiere.. It's been a huge year for I OH YOU, but let's keep it to the recent times - more specifically the announcement just last night I OH YOU were crownded Best Independent Label at the Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards, along with Violent Soho's Hungry Ghost record grabbing a couple of gongs. It comes following some killer new signees joining the fun in 2014 in DMA's and Montgomery, LOLs touring with Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs for Listen Out, a new merch STORE, and just general Australian domination. They're some of our favourite humans, and before the awards flowed in last night, we jumped on the old iPhone for a quick pow wow to talk all of these things, along with plenty of I OH YOU DJs discussions, to coincide with the premiere today of their next Take Me To The Hospital Mixtape (hear the first HERE). We love these dudes, and you guys clearly do too, so click play on the mixtape bel

New: Gorgon City - Sirens
UK production duo Gorgon City drop their anticipated debut album, Sirens.. In 2012, north-London producers Kye Gibbon and Matt Robson-Scott, both of which have a deft history of music making individually as Foamo & RackNRuin, joined to form the bassier side of house project, Gorgon City. When the two artists came together, their respective styles gel to make the sound that is Gorgon City, which has gone on to gain them international attention. Shortly after forming, the pair landed an impressive set of festival shows and were scooped up by mighty Black Butter Records.  Gorgon City’s eagerly awaited debut album, Sirens, has just been released via Black Butter / Virgin EMI / Neon Records, and includes all previous hits including Real and Ready For Your Love, which has now exceeded 30 million streams, as well as an a host of special guest vocalists including Laura Welsh and Yasmin. Video: Zeds Dead - Hadouken
Smirnoff launch the Sound Collective - it's like a house party but with big time DJs providing the beats.. This summer will see Smirnoff launch their Sound Collective project in an effort to take the ego out of EDM and bring it back down to a real level – where the music is paramount and good times with you the main concern. How? Well quite simply really; throwing sweet “house” parties with some of the world’s biggest DJs getting down off their pyrotechnic/flashy-LED throne and partying on the floor with you. For some idea of what it’s gonna look like, Zeds Dead shot the video clip for their single Hadouken in the #Smirnoffhouse at this year’s Tomorrowland, and they’ll be bringing a similar party to Stereosonic later this year. Bringing the bangers down to your level gives us Boiler Room-esque warm fuzzies, and we’re looking forward to much more of this over the coming summer. New: Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - Sugarman
The dream team finally re-unite for a take on Rodriguez's classic.. Don't pretend you didn't at some stage enjoy the heck out of We Speak No Americano when it became the one and only go-to track for clubs/pubs/parties/RSLs in 2010. Sure Yolanda Be Cool had to denounce themselves from it a year or two ago, but that's only because you all played it THAT much. Well it's been four years coming but YBC and DCUP have finally re-convened on a new jam, ready made for foot-tapping and club grooving. The reunion tales goes a little like this: Andrew (YBC): “We always intended to do more tunes together, but we just never seemed to be able to be in the same room for long enough. Then Duncan moved to Melbourne and for a while, I guess we just did our own thing.” Duncan (DCUP): “As much as we wanted to do more tunes together, apart from finding the time, we also knew that finding a sample with the same magic as Americano was a must. We didn't want to just put out tunes for the sake of it. Fast forwa
