You Can't Say 'Handjob' On US Network TV

Watch Stephen Colbert and Hugh Laurie take it in turns to say naughty words.

US TV Networks are fighting to have some of the strict rules pertaining to language relaxed as they strive to remain relevant in an ever expanding television and entertainment marketplace.

As it stands, there are plenty of words that can't be said on the major networks that are totally fair game on the major cable television networks, as Stephen Colbert proved on last night's The Colbert Report.

With a little help from actor and musician Hugh Laurie, Colbert took a legitimate document from Viacom – who own The Comedy Channel, the home of Colbert's show – which stipulated a few words and phrases that they were okay with their presenters using on air, that wouldn't be accepted on the major free-to-air networks.

It's kinda stupid, but pretty funny; especially if you get a kick out of hearing these two esteemed gentlemen saying the phrase “thumb in butt”.
