More Gang Of Youths Gang Of Youths

The wait for a new album might be just about over for Gang Of Youths fans.

Frontman David Le'aupepe shared the news to a sold-out show at The Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles over the weekend, with footage emerging on social media yesterday.

"We'll be back next year guys, girls and people who aren’t either," shared Le'aupepe. "With a new album, I guess." See the video below.

Le'aupepe spoke with Radio X in April this year, sharing that the album already had a title and "at least scaffolds for a bunch of songs", while Australian Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo shared footage of the band in the studio via his Instagram stories in July.

The album will be the follow-up to 2017's Go Father In Lightness, which picked up four ARIA Awards including Album Of The Year, Best Rock Album, Best Group and Producer Of The Year.

The news comes just days after the band's MTV Unplugged (Live in Melbourne), which was shot at Melbourne's Cobblestone Pavilion at Meat Market in July last year, was nominated for Best Original Soundtrack Or Musical Theatre Cast Album for this year's ARIA Awards.

The Music spoke with Le'aupepe ahead of the release of Go Father In Lightness, read it here.
