The 85-year-old multiple Grammy winner is expected to make a full recovery
Roseanne Barr, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Martina McBride and even renowned venue the Grand Ole Opry have expressed their well-wishes to US country music legend Loretta Lynn after the 85-year-old performer was hospitalised following a stroke late last week.
As the American ABC News reports, Lynn — a multi-Grammy winner, #1 hitmaker and all-round country icon — remains in hospital as of the weekend after suffering the stroke at home in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, on Thursday night, and has had to postpone her scheduled upcoming shows as a result.
However, according to a statement posted to her website and social media pages, she is "responsive and expected to make a full recovery".
Several high-profile artists and other individuals - along with an army of fans - have publicly sent their thoughts and prayers to Lynn for a swift convalescence, which, as ABC notes, has not escaped the notice of her family, with her sister, fellow Grammy winner Crystal Gayle, saying in a statement: "Many of you have heard that my sister, Loretta Lynn, had a stroke. She's a strong woman and I know she'll come out of this. Our family appreciates your prayers, love and support. We pray for a speedy recovery."

Barr described Lynn as her "friend/mentor" and the "first feminist superstar", while Jackson acknowledged her legendary status; other well-known musicians weighing in include the likes of Marie Osmond, Margo Price and Jamey Johnson, among others.
Lynn got her start as a musician in the late 1950s, releasing her first single, I'm A Honky Tonk Girl, in 1960. She released her debut album, Loretta Lynn Sings, in 1963, and reached #1 for the first time three years later, with 1966's Don't Come Home A-Drinkin' (With Lovin' On Your Mind).
She has released in the vicinity of 70 singles over the course of her career, as well as 40 studio albums, the most recent of which is last year's Full Circle. Her 41st full-length, Wouldn't It Be Great, is set to land this August.
