Melbourne gets Blue and Pinkerton
The much-anticipated return of Weezer to Australian shores has just got a little bit bigger with the band's announcement that they've added a Pinkerton Memories show in Melbourne.
The band will be playing the album in full – along with their greatest hits and rarities – Thursday 17 January at the Palais Theatre. Posting on their blog the band said, “The last time we were in Australia we were promoting the original release of Pinkerton, so it's amazing to come full circle all these years later.”
For the other shows on the tour, the band will be focusing on their other seminal record – Weezer (The Blue Album).
“The Pinkerton Memories show will be similar to the Blue Memories show with a set of hits and other faves (different from the Blue night), followed by a slideshow of memories hosted by Karl, followed by the Pinkerton album performed start to finish. Thank you so much for your support and for waiting for us to return! We cannot wait to get there and share the rock with you.”
