Watch Fall Out Boy's Completed 'Young Blood Chronicles' Film

Guest-starring Foxes, 2 Chainz, Big Sean and Elton John

More Fall Out Boy More Fall Out Boy

We could spend the rest of time arguing about whether or not Fall Out Boy actually rescued rock music - and whether it even needed help in the first place - with their fifth studio LP, Save Rock And Roll, but what isn't up for debate is the scope of creative vision the pop-punk heroes have plied in its wake.

Since the album's release about 14 months ago, the band have steadily released a music video for every single song on the album - 11, all up - and along the way have called upon the guest-star talents of acts such as Foxes, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Courtney Love, Tommy Lee and Elton John.

We finally understand what "John 3:16" means.

Now, the band have compiled them into a single narrative film that received its own TV airing in the States back in May, and is scheduled for a July DVD release.

Collectively known as The Young Blood Chronicles, the 49-minute musical film takes us on a visually ambitious, non-chronological journey that sees the band members obtain a mysterious suitcase and be variably kidnapped, beaten, mutilated, and generally put through the ringer in their ultimate quest to save rock'n'roll. So, even (especially?) if you don't like their music, there's a reason for you to watch the video. Also, 2 Chainz sets a bunch of records on fire pretty early on, so it's got that going for it too.

Have a look-see at the full bowl of fruit from the past 14 months' work below:

Save Rock And Roll was released after the band embarked on a significant hiatus in 2009, which saw them temporarily part ways after lukewarm critical and fan response to 2008's fourth full-length Folie à Deux. The group reunited after a few false starts and similarly lukewarm solo efforts on their own time.

Fall Out Boy most recently toured Australia last year, when they completed an arena tour of the nation starting in October.
