"My next album will have a completely different identity.”
Bridgetown alt-country singer-songwriter and composer Emily Barker has once again cracked the UK Charts with the release of her new record, Sweet Kind Of Blue.
Barker’s new record has debuted at #83 on the overall Albums Chart and soared to #2 on the Record Store Chart, the latter of which is determined by physical in-store purchases.
In 2013, Barker release Dear River with The Red Clay Halo, which charted at #99 on the UK Albums Chart and #7 on the Record Store Chart.
The WA artist has been relentlessly touring and building up a solid fanbase in the region for well over a decade, with her first mainstream UK venture coming in 2008 when her single Nostalgia was picked up as the theme song for BBC1 hit Wallander before Pause was used for major BBC2 drama The Shadow Line in 2011.

“I made this album in Memphis at Sam Phillips Recording Service with an all-star cast of Memphis musicians and an incredible producer, Matt Ross-Spang. We recorded live to tape,” Barker told The Music last month.
“If I could relive that whole experience, I wouldn't do anything differently. But of course my next album will have a completely different identity.”
Barker is currently touring the UK before venturing to the US in July for her first ever run of dates there.
