“I never in a million years thought I would make it this far in the show."
Lachie Gill, a former footy player from Victoria, has won The Voice season 11.
The 24-year-old victor claims a recording contract with Universal Music Australia and $100,000 in prize money following the release of his recent since Wasted Time ahead of the finale.
“I never in a million years thought I would make it this far in the show so to have won blows my mind,” Gill said.
“Not only will the prize money go a long way in changing my life but to be signed with Universal Music is an opportunity that I will not take lightly.
“I’m absolutely ready to make a name for myself in the music industry, so to have the support from a label would be a dream come true."
Winning Coach Rita Ora added: “Lachie is in a league of his own, he’s the ultimate storyteller and has the ability to capture the audience and have them go along with him. He sings like it’s the last time, every time.”

Despite dominating last night’s ratings, The Voice outshining MasterChef Australia, Celebrity Apprentice and more, the series finale was well down on last year.
As TV Tonight reports, last night The Voice saw 751,000 metro viewers tuning in throughout the airing (779,000 viewers watched the moment Gill was announced as winner), which is down on last year’s finale, which aired post-Olympics to 1.29m (peaking at 1.38m for the winner announcement).
