The band raised over $20,000 in just one day.

US group SOUL GLO have raised over $20,000 in a GoFundMe campaign to get one of the band members out of custody after they alleged they were "targeted" by police on the way to a show.

"While driving to a show, we were followed, pulled over and approached by a Missouri State Trooper with his hand on his gun," the Philadelphia-founded outfit said in a statement posted on the crowdfunding website.

"We were racially profiled, and targeted by two white police officers. They pulled us all out of the car, searched us all and now have one of us in custody. The above amount is for support. The bail that was posted is THREE times the amount that they normally charge.

"Any amount that comes close but falls short will be used for attorney fees, be donated to others in need, or returned to donors. We haven’t gotten there yet right now we just want to get our friend out safely."

SOUL GLO deactivated the campaign after just one day after raising $22,708 with the goal set at $15,000.

"The support in every sense has been almost overwhelming and we are extremely grateful," an update on the band's Facebook reads.

"We cannot touch the money till next week at the earliest but we have hired an attorney. We are doing everything in our power to get him out but we will be in Missouri till Friday at the earliest."
