"We are not playing an all-ages show here and we could have done four times as many tickets."
The frontman of US pop group LANY has claimed that the enormous cost in upgrading venues has resulted in many fans missing out on their Sydney show next week.
Speaking to News Corp, Paul Klein said they wanted to move their gig from Oxford Art Factory to accommodate their under-18s fan base, but that it would have cost "thousands and thousands of dollars".
"We are not playing an all-ages show here and we could have done four times as many tickets," Klein said.
"I am so thankful we sold out but we tried everything to take it to a bigger venue but were told if we were going to do a 1500 capacity venue here it would costs thousands and thousands of dollars.

"But I think Australia is still going to be a good place for us, a good market for our music."
Security and insurance expenses has been blamed as the reason for higher costs for all-ages shows.
The LA trio did however perform a free all-ages set at Bondi Beach yesterday to appease their fans who will not be able to see them at OAF on Tuesday.
