Who said artists don’t release surprise albums anymore? Tyler, The Creator dropped his ninth album, DON’T TAP THE GLASS, on Monday (21 July).
The surprise release arrives just nine months after the release of the American rapper’s critically acclaimed LP, CHROMAKOPIA (also a surprise Monday release), and a month before his highly anticipated Australian tour.
Tyler, The Creator had been teasing the new album on social media for a few days before its release. He officially announced the album over the weekend during a performance at Barclay Centre in Brooklyn, showing off the record while crate-digging on stage.
The ten-track album is a streamlined release for the rapper, which reportedly features uncredited guest vocals from Baby Keem, Daisy World, Madison McFerrin, and Pharrell Williams.
At just 28 minutes and 30 seconds, DON’T TAP THE GLASS marks the shortest album in Tyler, The Creator’s discography.
