The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) announced earlier this year that he’d be releasing a new album, Hurry Up Tomorrow, but until now, no release date has been attached to the album.

A short turnaround: Hurry Up Tomorrow will be released in less than two months: Friday, 24 January 2025. In addition to announcing the album’s release date, The Weeknd revealed that he’ll perform a massive one-off show in support of the album at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, on Saturday, 25 January.

Hurry Up Tomorrow will be released via the Blinding Lights singer’s XO company and Republic Records. The release date was preceded by the release of three singles: Dancing In The Flames, Timeless featuring Playboi Carti and São Paulo starring Anitta.

In September, The Weeknd shared the striking album cover for Hurry Up Tomorrow, a close-up portrait of the singer in a black tank top and seemingly holding back tears.

Fans can head to the singer’s XO Australian store to pre-order first edition black vinyl, the red Frank Miller collector’s edition vinyl, signed and first pressing CDs, and t-shirt and CD bundles. You can pre-order your copy of the album here.

Billboard notes that the forthcoming album will be the third and final instalment in his latest trilogy, following 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM.

Earlier this year, the singer-songwriter made headlines when he remarked that he was preparing to release his final album under the Weeknd moniker.

“It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close the Weeknd chapter,” Tesfaye said in a May W Magazine interview. “I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn.”

He continued, “The visuals are vital to my career. The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd. This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say.”

The Weeknd made his long-awaited return to Australia last month. The Music’s Michael Prebeg wrote that the Melbourne Marvel Stadium show featured “a spectacular stadium production worth the wait and leaving us wanting more.”
