The Screaming JetsThe Screaming Jets’ Dave Gleeson has shared that the band plans to finish songs that were almost complete upon bassist Paul Woseen’s passing last September.
In a new interview with Noise11, Gleeson mentioned “four or five” songs that were close to being finished in the Professional Misconduct album sessions.
“He did a lot of work with our guitarist Scotty Kingman, and they committed plenty of riffs and ideas to tape,” Gleeson said, adding that those tapes will be something the band will “definitely” look through.
He continued, “The ones we recorded for the Professional Misconduct sessions, they are definitely going to be seeing the light of day somewhere.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Gleeson opened up about how he couldn’t believe it’s been over a year since his bandmate’s passing. He also discussed new bassist and backing vocalist Paul Elliott: “We have been very lucky that his place has been taken by one of his best mates from Newcastle.
“Not only the songwriting is integral, but Paully’s backing vocals are part of the Jets sound. Paul Elliott has come along and has been really spot on in replicating Paully’s backing vocals.”

This month, The Screaming Jets are hitting the road with special guests Mammal as well as rising stars Large Mirage and LOLA.
The Screaming Jets released Professional Misconduct last October and dedicated its release to Woseen.
“It’s been probably the most trying time in my professional life,” Gleeson said. “We lost Paul on the 15th of September, and everything has been thrown into a bit of turmoil since then.... Paully wrote nine of the songs on the new album, and we didn’t just want to mothball that; we wanted to get it out there.”
