The Last Radio Ratings For 2018 Are In - How Did Your Favourite Station Finish?

The final radio ratings results for 2018 are in - who finished out the year on top and who is shaping up for a big 2019?

Sydney

KIIS1065's Kyle & Jackie O have finished the year on top yet again in the FM breakfast ratings with a share of 10.5%, beating out second-placed WSFM with 9.0%.

Triple J managed to increase its overall weekday share by 0.1% thanks to spikes in the drive and evenings slots, but Smooth 95.3 has finished 2018 as Sydney's most listened to FM station, with a share of 9.1%.

Melbourne

Triple J again increased its overall weekday share by 0.1% in the Melbourne market despite a 0.5% drop in the breakfast slot, with healthy increases in the morning (up 0.9%) and afternoon (up 0.7%) slots. 

Smooth 91.5 has held onto the title of Melbourne's most listened to FM station with an overall weekday share of 10.6%, finishing ahead of Gold 104.3 in second (9.7%) and Fox 101.9 in third (9.6%).

Brisbane

Triple J had its best outing in Brisbane to see out 2018, with an increase of 0.7% to its overall weekday share. 

The youth broadcaster gained big boosts in the afternoon and drive slots (both up 1.1%), as well as weekends (up 0.8%) and breakfast (up 0.6%).

Meanwhile, Triple M maintained its dominance of the FM market in Brisbane following a huge spike of 1.7%, to finish with an overall share of 13.3%, well ahead of Nova 106.9 which finished in second spot with a share of 11.3%.

Perth

Following on from the previous survey, triple j have backed up those impressive results by increasing its overall weekday share by 0.3% thanks to jumps in the afternoon (up 1.1%) and morning (up 0.7%) slots. 

There was no stopping Mix 94.5 as Perth's #1 FM station though,  which posted an overall weekday share of 14.8%, easily beating second-placed Nova 93.7's share of 13.7%.

Adelaide

The Adelaide market proved to be the toughest for triple j this time around, which lost 0.4% for an overall share of 6.5% on the back of drops in all slots, excluding mornings.

Despite losing 0.1%, Mix 102.3 is still the SA capital's #1 FM station (12.9%), which finished comfortably ahead of Nova 91.9 in second (10.2%).
