"Who says 8 minutes is too long for a single?... Everybody apparently?...dang."

Brisbane quintet The John Steel Singers have unveiled two exciting new things today — their latest single Can You Feel The Future, our first taste of the forthcoming Midnight At The Plutonium EP, as well as tour dates in support of the single.

The eight minute installment of musical miscellany travels through funk, psychedelic, blues and rock. The band, who also own and operate their own record label and studio (having recorded the likes of Tame Impala, Cloud Control and Blank Realm) believe their nearly-here third album really made its home in the studio.

Lead singer Tim Morrissey explains the significance of the new single, saying, "The song started as a loop, on my Digitech PDS 1002 back in 2010. We jammed over that for a bit. Then a couple of years later Scott remembered it and came up with the funky bassline … Finally we brought it back to the Plutonium and after a million hours noodling then whittling then noodling then whittling we finally settled on the best song we've ever put on tape."

To celebrate, the band's Can You Feel The Future tour will stop at The Blurst of Times festival in Brisbane on 16 April, Brighton Up Bar in Sydney on 21 April and will finish up at the Curtin Bandroom in Melbourne on 24 April.
