Sift through the closet, pull out those fishnets and latex bodysuits - The Empty Threats are back.
The queer post-punk noise-rock five-piece - known for their indomitable showmanship and wild onstage hijinks - have announced that they are playing their first show in Adelaide (their home terrain) since May of 2024.
The band spent a huge chunk of their 2024 touring Europe and the United Kingdom for the first time ever, performing to awed crowds in cities scattered throughout Britain, France, Germany, Czechia, and more.
They have since arrived back home to Adelaide, and have been biding their time, gearing up for more neon splendour.
Fans of the five-piece will be thrilled at the announcement that The Empty Threats will be playing at Jive on Friday, November 22nd. The music venue on the far side of Hindley Street is a staple of the Adelaide arts scene, and sure to be the perfect setting for the sonic euphoria promised by The Empty Threats.

They will be joined by The Munch, Jackulson, and Perfect 50.
It is a stellar line up - The Munch are just coming off their win for Most Popular Heavy Artist at this year’s SA Music Awards. Jackulson - project of songwriter Jackson Phillips - transcends genre with its sonic styles and is a darling of the alternative indie scene. And Perfect 50, the young and up-and-coming three-piece folk rock band, are fast becoming an act to watch out for.
Tickets are now on sale for this glittering Jive bonanza, which has been confirmed to be The Empty Threats’s last show of the year after a stacked 2024. The event is strictly 18+.
The band instructs gig-goers to “bring ur finest latex” and “go wild.”
