New album 'Fight & Flight' is the week's only new entrant on either chart
Stalwart Melbourne band Tequila Mockingbyrd have put in a standout performance on this week's Carlton Dry Independent Music Charts, walking away with the sole new entry across both the Albums and Singles rankings for new album Fight & Flight, which steps out square on the top-20 halfway mark at #10.
Although the band stand alone among the debut ranks for the week, there are at least a handful of shake-ups across the board as several old friends return to the mix. In the Albums stakes, we see re-entries from Sia (Best Of..., #15), The Cat Empire (The Cat Empire, #18) and Chet Faker (Thinking In Textures, #20), while Singles returns come courtesy of Faker (Talk Is Cheap, #17), Urthboy (Daughter Of The Light ft. Kira Puru, #19) and Flume (Holdin On, #20).
The pointy ends of both charts remain largely untouched; the top four respective singles (Flume's Say It ft. Tove Lo, Sia's Cheap Thrills, Flume's Never Be Like You ft. Kai, and The Temper Trap's Fall Together) all remain in position, with Sia's Alive and Chandelier both stepping up a rung each to land back-to-back again at #5 and #6 (she also has a fourth single, Elastic Heart, on the charts, at #9). Flume's Smoke & Retribution (ft. Vince Staples & Kucka) is up five spots to #7 this week, while Vance Joy also enjoys a slight bump to Fire & The Flood, up a spot to #8. The top 10 tracks are rounded out by The Rubens' chart-busting stayer Hoops, now in its 33rd week on the charts.
It's a demonstrably similar state of affairs as far as full-lengths are concerned, with Sia incumbent atop the pile with This Is Acting. The Cat Empire are similarly steady, remaining at #2 with Rising With The Sun, as are King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, whose Nonagon Infinity checks in at #3 once again. Veteran rockers The Screaming Jets see a one-spot bump for their new album, Chrome, up to #4 this week, while Sia's previous record, 1000 Forms Of Fear, remains a solid top-half contender, rising a place to land at #5 this week.

It's also been an especially fruitful period for local label Poison City Records, with three of their acts now bringing in results on the chart in Luca Brasi (If This Is All We're Going To Be, #9), Camp Cope (Camp Cope, #11) and The Bennies (Wisdom Machine, #13).
