Just a matter of days out from his upcoming appearances in Australia, chart-topping US musician Teddy Swims has been forced to cancel a pair of shows as part of his American tour.
Swims is currently scheduled to return to Australia this October, with a lofty run of dates set to kick off following a brief jaunt in New Zealand. The forthcoming visit will also be preceded by a quick drop into Sydney, where he is set to perform as part of the NRL Grand Final’s pre-game entertainment at Accor Stadium on Sunday, October 5th.
Taking to his Instagram Stories over the weekend, however, Swims revealed he was forced to axe his recently planned dates in Hawaii (for Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th) due to unspecified health issues.
“My doctor has not cleared me to sing, and I need a little more time to recover before I can give you the show you deserve,” Swims told fans apologetically.
"I hate to disappoint you and truly apologise for letting you down. Thank you for your love, patience, and understanding,” he added. "I can't wait until I'm back and able to sing for you again."
Swims has not yet addressed his upcoming travel plans for Australia and New Zealand, nor have the NRL issues any sort of statement in relation to Swims’ appearance at the Grand Final.

The US musician’s I've Tried Everything But Therapy Australian Tour was first announced back in March, marking his first visit to the country since 2023, and serving as his biggest shows on local shores to date.
Due to phenomenal demand, extra dates have been added in multiple cities. Shows in Christchurch, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth are sold out, with remaining tickets available for additional shows on the Frontier Touring website.
For his upcoming tour, Teddy Swims will be accompanied by special guest Matt Corby.
Swims was confirmed at the NRL Grand Final entertainment earlier this month, with National Rugby League CEO Andrew Abdo calling the musician “one of the most exciting music talents in the world,” and labelling him “the perfect performer for the NRL Grand Final day.
“Teddy’s global appeal and connection with young audiences in Australia, the US and around the world, matches our vision to grow Rugby League globally,” Abdo continued.
“Grand Final day is a special event on the sporting calendar, capturing moments that last forever. Including a fresh superstar like Teddy Swims alongside some of the best male and female athletes in the world will take the entertainment experience for sports fans to a whole new level.”
Alongside his performances, Swims’ is also scheduled to appear as a keynote speaker at SXSW Sydney next month.
