Popular grunge revivalist band Superheaven are returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade in April and May 2026.

The tour begins at Brisbane’s The Triffid on Thursday, 30 April. It continues at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Saturday, 2 May, Sydney’s Liberty Hall on Sunday, 3 May, Adelaide’s Lion Arts Factory on Tuesday, 5 May, and concludes at Perth’s Amplifier Bar on Wednesday, 6 May.

Fans can register for pre-sale tickets, which will be available on Thursday, 11 December, at 12 pm local time. The general sale opens on Friday, 12 December, at 12 pm local time via the Destroy All Lines website.

Known for their post-hardcore grit, fuzzed-out distortion, and hazy alternative melodies, Superheaven channel pure emotion in their take on grunge-inspired alternative rock. With three albums to their name – 2013’s Jar, 2015’s Ours Is Chrome, and this year’s self-titled album – Superheaven have toured alongside fellow scene bands Turnstile, Balance & Composure, and Tigers Jaw.

Superheaven gathered a cult following before quietly embarking on a hiatus in 2016. Then, something completely unexpected happened: between 2023 and 2024, a Jar song, Youngest Daughter, went viral on TikTok. It soundtracked numerous reels on the video-sharing platform and took its streaming numbers to multi-million figures on Spotify alone. Superheaven returned to the road in 2022.

For their long-awaited return to Australia, Superheaven will be joined by special guests Angel Du$t.

In a recent interview with Revolver Magazine, Superheaven frontman Taylor Madison discussed the viral fame of Youngest Daughter.

“It’s done a lot for our band,” he said. “It’s resulted in more ticket sales and more eyes on us, which I guess in a way I kind of resent. In my mind, I think I like attention, but then I get it, and I’m instantly put off by it. I don’t want to be the focal point of anyone’s attention, I guess.”

He added. “But as far as the song going viral, there’s really no downside. I don’t know if this sounds cocky, but if I thought it was our only good song, or our best song, I would be like ‘Damn… now what?’ But I don’t even think it’s in the top 5. I think we can write better songs than that.

“So, I feel like it’s put us in a spot where people are paying attention, and we can be like ‘Alright, well, now we’ve got to give them an even better song!’”
