MusicNSW have five regional shows programmed
MusicNSW's Indent festival is returning in November and December this year and festival organisers have announced Spit Syndicate as 2013's headlining act, the duo set to lead the charge of local supports through regional New South Wales.
An event brought to fans by MusicNSW, funded by ArtsNSW and supported by APRA, Indent is now in its fourth year and provides a skills development opportunity for young people in the state's regional areas.
Following up on last year's huge Jinja Safari-headlined event, this year's festival moves through Maitland, Taree, Wagga Wagga, Jindabyne and Albury, where the Indent team will continue to work closely with young persons from 12 to 25 years of age to develop and stage the show in their respective town.
ARIA-nominated Spit Syndicate – joined by third member DJ Joyride – certainly know their way around touring circuits, preparing to set off on an September to November national tour, before playing the all-ages, drug-free event.
“We're excited to be a part of this tour, not only because it will take us to towns where we've never headlined shows before, but mainly because it involves performing all-ages shows in regional areas – which are two groups of people who tend to miss out a lot of gigs,” said Spit Syndicate's Nick Lupi.
“…this tour is more than about performing a few shows, it's about getting young people involved in the entire process of planning, promoting and pulling off a successful event.”
The teams involved will perform a range of duties in the fields of event management, the music business and learning the skills of live performance through observing and working alongside professionals.
The local tour supports will be unveiled in due time – for more information, head to the Indent homepage.
