Sony Music Re-Sign Label Deal With Alberts

Announcement comes as AC/DC move into digital retain

Sony Music Entertainment Australia have re-signed their label deal with music rights management house Alberts in a “long-term” agreement for Australia and New Zealand.

Announced today, the deal will continue to see Alberts' releases issued through the Sony channels. They first struck up a deal in 2006, with a highlight of that period being the release of AC/DC's Black Ice, and was resigned when the same band released their Live At River Plate album last week. AC/DC have just moved into the digital retail world as well.

Alberts also looks after the publishing rights for Vanda & Young, Wally DeBacker (Gotye), Megan Washington, Hungry Kids Of Hungary and San Cisco. Their label arm has seen releases from The Easybeats, Rose Tattoo, John Paul Young and AC/DC.
