System Of A Down ProfileSystem Of A Down’s Shavo Odadjian has scored a sweet new gig.
VICE reports that the bassist has landed a role as a villain in the forthcoming second season of Dexter: Resurrection.
In a preview shared by the official Dexter account on social media, the title character has Odadjian against a pole, wrapped in plastic but with his face visible.
According to the publication Dexter Daily, Odadjian appears as a villain – possibly a serial killer – named R.H. Martin in the second season premiere, which airs in October on Paramount+.
Odadjian’s role in Dexter: Resurrection marks his dramatic acting debut. He’s previously appeared as an extra in AC/DC’s music video for Big Gun, made a cameo in the Ben Stiller comedy film Zoolander, and has featured in documentaries.
As Consequence of Sound notes, Odadjian has ties to the series’ director, Marcos Siega, who directed the System Of A Down music video for Chop Suey! and also teamed up with the bassist to co-direct the clip for Toxicity.

System Of A Down last visited Australia in February and March 2012, when they headlined Soundwave Festival alongside Slipknot and embarked on a run of headline arena shows, where they were joined by special guests The Dillinger Escape Plan. The shows were marketed as their reunion tour.
Faith No More also last played in Australia as part of Soundwave Festival in 2015.
