A huge new event series has been confirmed for Victoria, with more than 300 events set to take place throughout the state as part of a government-backed bid to reignite live music following a rough couple of years due to COVID.

Featuring Baker Boy, Emma Donovan & The Putbacks, Kaiit, Gordi and stacks more, On The Road Again is a $5 million initiative from the Andrews Labor Government and will see gigs pop up across regional Victoria and outer-metropolitan Melbourne.

The event series has been curated via 34 grants that were issued to regional venues, promoters and artists.

A statement released today said that “the program reaffirms and celebrates the state’s reputation as the live music capital of Australia, bringing live music back to local stages”.

Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson said: “With more than 300 incredible events and an awesome line-up of local artists, this summer offers plenty of reasons to take a music-fuelled roadtrip across Victoria.
