Rebel Wilson Speaks Out Over Emmys Consideration Snub

"I just feel like I've been banned from buying a raffle ticket for a raffle I had a super fat chance of winning anyways"

More Rebel Wilson More Rebel Wilson

US-based Aussie comedian Rebel Wilson has expressed her disappointment on Twitter at being left out of contention for this year's Emmy Awards ceremony.

Although her ABC-commissioned sitcom Super Fun Night was axed after just one season following middling ratings and reviews, Wilson nonetheless had remained hopeful that she would be put forward by her network for consideration -- a turn of events that evidently failed to come to pass.

"Oh man, I realise my show Super Fun Night was cancelled, but it sucks that they didn't even put me in the race for the Emmys," the Pitch Perfect star tweeted. "Not that I thought I would have a chance of winning but there wasn't many females heading network comedies and I might've had a slight chance at the 6th nomination slot.

"Oh well, will have to just try for Oscar or Tony."

The sting of the snub will hopefully not be a lasting concern for Wilson, who has plenty of other projects on the go to keep her mind off her rough run on the small screen this past year. With an upcoming role in Night At The Museum: Secret Of The Tomb, a return to her character Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect 2 on the cards, and her recent signing to the Sacha Baron Cohen/Mark Strong-led Grimsby, who even needs the Emmys? Shows like Murphy Brown, that's who.
