Angela Samut has today been announced as the new CEO of QMusic.
Samut has been announced as the replacement for longtime QMusic CEO Joel Edmondson, who has left the position to join Queensland Music Festival as executive director.
Samut joins QMusic from Screen Queensland, where she has been the communications & marketing manager since 2014, and has previously worked in publicity at Paramount Pictures, Network 10 and Festival Mushroom Records.
“We’re delighted that Angela will join QMusic. The final field for the position was very strong and the interview process showcased several strong contenders from several states," said QMusic president, Michael Crutcher.
“Angela will bring to QMusic an exciting background from her work within the music industry to her most recent appointment as a highly-regarded Communications and Marketing Manager at Screen Queensland. Angela has an excellent understanding of Queensland’s creative industries and she is clearly passionate about the music industry.
“She will join QMusic in our 25th year at a time when we’re continuing on an unprecedented period of growth. BIGSOUND, the Queensland Music Awards and our Industry Connect program have all grown in recent years."
